Due to the latest edition of the Hazardous Substances Ordinance (2023), the substitution test obligation applies. So if substitution products are available as high-temperature insulation (calcium-free materials; no calcium - no calcium chromate), a substitution must be made in order to rule out the formation of dangerous substances once and for all.

This HexChecks TM Neutralizer Quart Spray Bottle Kit contains 4 neutralizer packs with a spray bottle for neutralizing.
HexChecks TM Neutralizer is an easy-to-use cleaning solution designed to instantly neutralize hexavalent chromium ions (Cr +6), also known as HexChrome. HexChrome is a known carcinogen and needs to be detected and neutralized in unwanted areas to keep your employees safe.
To use HexChecksTM Neutralizer, add one neutralizer pack to a clean 32 fl oz / 946 ml neutralizer spray bottle. Add water and mix thoroughly. Spray Apply HexChecksTM Neutralizer solution to suspect area until wet, leave for 10 seconds, then wipe off. The HexChrome will then be largely neutralized.
To check if all HexChrome has been neutralized, use a HexChecksTM test stick. If the color of the test stick does not change, then all HexChrome has been neutralized.

Please note that protective clothing that has been contaminated with chromium (VI) or its compounds (chromates) must be labeled as special waste. If necessary, decontamination of the protective clothing with HexChecks TM Neutraliser is recommended.
